UV GERM

HAND RUB GEL

For Hand Sanitiser Application Training

UV GERM Training lotion

The recent COVID pandemic reminded the entire world of the profound importance of effective hand washing and sanitising. However to achieve total hand hygiene, the proper techniques must be demonstrated, and in a way that makes them simple to learn and easier to remember.

UV GERM Hand Rub Training Gel provides the means to achieve this and so completes the circle of hygiene.

Safe for use on sensitive skin, this gentle, high quality, hypoallergenic hand sanitiser training gel, is made using invisible UV GERM technology and will help you provide a visual demonstration of ineffective hand rub hygiene, and help you teach the techniques necessary to improve it.

So how does it work?

For sanitising hand rub to be fully effective, it must correctly applied so that it covers the entire surface area of both hands and wrists. If there any gaps in this coverage then the hand rub may not be effective! But how do you see what is and is properly covered?

This is where UV GERM Hand Rub Training Gel comes in. Once applied the gel is essentially invisible, however, it contains a harmless, invisible UV ingredient, which when exposed to a UV light, will glow (fluoresce) bright blue!  This serves to show exactly which parts of the hands and wrists have (and more importantly) have not been properly covered (i.e. sanitised).

To achieve this we created microscopic germ-like smart particles which are only 5 microns in diameter (that’s just 5 millionths of a millimeter!) pretty small I’m sure you’d agree. Now in normal light they really are too small to see, however, when you shine a certain kind of UV light on them, they each glow an intense blue, like a microscopic supernova.

Whats more, its British made, kind to hands and safe for use on all skin types and colours. Its also alcohol-free, fragrance-free, gluten-free, non-toxic and hypoallergenic and suitable for Vegans too.

Please note:  This product does not actually ‘sanitise’ hands or skin, its purpose is to ‘simulate’ the application of normal hand sanitizing gel for training purposes only.

Hand Rub Training is Simple

The principle is simple; for hand rub to be fully effective, it must correctly applied so that it covers the entire surface area of both hands and wrists.

Any gaps (no matter how small) in this coverage, means the alcohol hand rub may not be effective!

But how do you see what is and is properly covered? This is where UV GERM Hand Rub Training Gel comes in. The gel contains a harmless, invisible UV ingredient, which when exposed to a UV light, will glow (fluoresce) bright blue.

This serves to show exactly which parts of the hands and wrists have (and more importantly) have not been properly covered (sanitised).

4. Check the results

Now have them place their hands inside the Showbox (or other darkend area) and see the results. The vast majority of their hands will probably be covered. However, its the tiny dark areas on the hands and wrists that are the danger zones. This is where microbes and bacteria can hide, safe from the sanitizers reach. Remember, it only takes a speck to cross-contaminate!

5. Now Teach them how to do it properly

Having seen with their own eyes, the evidence of apply hand rub incorrectly, you would now teach them the correct technique and repeat the above steps 1 through 4 until they get it right.

Hand sanitiser training is a key part of the Healthcare Circle of Hygiene.
